Welcome to our new website! Western Student Transportation, known as WST, was developed after Western students approved an Alternative Transportation Fee in April 2007. WST is responsible for representing and coordinating student transportation needs, and coordinates such services such as the WTA Viking Xpress Bus Pass and the WWU Late Night Shuttle.
Updates:
- RIDER ALERT:
- WWU students who are not registered for summer classes may purchase a $10 monthly WTA student pass with WWU validated ID (general public passes are $20 per month). These passes may be purchased at the WTA down town station. WTA issued passes are not valid for parking on campus.
- While most WTA routes run on their regular schedules during the summer, the following routes will not operate between June 14 and September 23: 90A, 90B, 95, 96 and 97. Route 190 will continue to serve the park & ride at Lincoln Creek every 30 minutes 7am-6:30pm M-F and hourly on Saturdays. There is no Sunday service to the park & ride during the summer. BLUE line service (between Downtown Bellingham and Bill McDonald & Samish) continues through the summer.
- Please note that periodically the WWU Late Night Shuttle will use replacement buses provided by our contractor, Bellair Airporter due to recurring mechanical difficulties with the WWU buses. These replacement shuttles resemble large vans and display the Bellair Airporter logo but are identified with temporary signage as WWU Late Night Shuttle vehicles.
- The last night of operation for the WWU Late Night Shuttle for the 2007-2008 academic year will be Saturday June 14, 2008. The WWU Late Night Shuttle will resume operation for the 2008-2009 academic year on Sunday September 21, 2008.
- BUS PASS PICK-UP:
- Students attending Summer quarter will be able to pick up their bus passes at the Western Card Office starting June 2, 2008. Western Card Office hours are 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday. Summer Viking Xpress Passes will become valid beginning Sunday June 22, 2008.
- To be eligible to receive a Viking Xpress Bus Pass, students must be registered for at least six credits OR be registered for 1-5 credits and "opt in" to the student transportation system by paying the Alternative Transportation Fee. Students attending Summer Quarter can opt-in starting June 2nd by visiting the Western Card Office or by contacting the WWU Transportation Office at (360) 650-7960 or at AS.Transportation@wwu.edu.
